If you are new to rowing you’ll start off on indoor rowing machines to learn the basics of the rowing stroke. When you’re ready, we’ll get you on the water, normally in boats for 1 or 2 people. We will tie a rope to your boat and have floats on it until you get the hang of things so that you’re safe.

The Learn2Rows are for those in Years 6 to 10, from age 11 to 15.

Just yourself, and a water bottle if you have one! We provide all the equipment.

No, Just wear leggings, trackies or shorts, a t-shirt and jumper or your school PE kit. We also have lots of kit you can use if you need any.

Possibly, but when you start out, we put you in stable boats, and we attach floats to make the boats even more stable.

Yes. If you can’t swim, or aren’t a confident swimmer you’ll wear a life jacket when you’re in the boat. We run ‘swimming confidence’ lessons on a Friday after school just for Infinity Boat Club rowers if you need some time in the pool. These lessons are also free and we can provide swim suits, swim shorts, swim hats and goggles.

Normally, yes. However, we are a charity and have funding so that everything we do is FREE. The Learn2Row is free, there are no membership fees, training sessions are free and we even provide racing kit free of charge.

It’s better if you can come to all 4 days because you’ll make the most progress, but if you need to miss a day, that’s fine.

After you’ve done a Learn2Row there are so many opportunities to go rowing!

Of course! We also have back to sessions during the week where those that have had a break from rowing can get some coaching in small groups and catch up.

We’re easy to get to, just tucked away behind the Mecca Bingo and Grosvenor Casino.
Our address is Infinity Boat Club, Castlegate Quay, Moat Street, Stockton-on-Tees TS18 3AZ. We are a 5 min walk from the bus stops on Stockton High Street.

If you would like to borrow a bike to help you get to us, we have some that we can lend you. Just ask your coach.

We have a team of coaches, who are all qualified coaches, vetted and insured. Cathy , Ellie , James , Kelly , Miguel  & Olivia.

Some people can take longer than others to perfect the rowing stroke, but we let everyone go at their own pace, the most important thing is you enjoy it and feel confident in what you’re doing.
